Madrid Day 6 of tbd

Well today I’ve been pretty tired, and somewhat worried and discouraged.  It’s tiring having to continually pull up google maps to get anywhere and continually pull up google translate to ask for anything. I’m also constantly trying to think of things to do that the kids will find fun. Other than that, we’re doing fine.  Hahaha.

Unsuccessful attempt to see changing of the guards at
noon at the Royal palace. Christian asked where it was supposed to happen and I said right here and he said but there are no guards to change and I said oh yeah you’re right. I was laughing so hard at my idiocy. We had a baguette lunch on these steps waiting for the cambio de guardia that never happened. It’s only the first Wed of every month but Rick Steves had said it happens every Wednesday, just a big one on the first. His book is from 2019 though.

Since the two day pass for the hop on bus tour was just slightly more than one day I got two. Day 2 was just as so so as day 1.

Our Airbnb street. We do love this one it’s so light and cozy with big couches and tv. Sad to move again tomorrow.

Royal palace with no guards

Homework and journaling, left to right. Olin is writing a book about our trip and so far he has finished Chapter 1, covering first impressions of Barcelona. Christian has been diligent as ever, even taking his science exam pretty much live on time this evening.

C lessening, O brightening

This place is a one bedroom and my one bedroom
has two doorways which look out to the couches where the kids sleep. It was hilarious this morning when I woke up, called them out, and two little heads appeared in each of my doorways.

Second churreria we found. I still want
To try the porros (thicker churros) but they didn’t have them today
