Covid Chronicles #11

When Dae heard there could be a chainsaw involved he was seriously halfway to Ace Hardware. I barely had time to give him my coupon! He came back and got straight to work.

Also nipped some of our backyard trees (don't know names) because they rustle against the side of our house where we sleep and it's loud....sounds like birds scratching against the house. That pile is what we got rid of.

I like how he still likes to do various work on top of the kitchen island.

He said he saw a video in school last year of how to make a combination lock safe so he just went for it by memory. It is VERY intricate (to me). It's like a real combination lock where you turn it one way to a certain number, and then another way to another number. It engages internally in a whole bunch of different ways to get to the end result - the lower lever opening.

There are two wheels in there on the top. There is a pie shape piece cut out of each wheel which corresponds to where they engage. The little T Shaped skewer engages, which attaches to the lower bar, which pushes the lock in and out. He explained to me how it worked two times, and I still don't get it. The fact that it has to engage one way, and then engage another way when you're putting different numbers in is very confusing.

Getting some energy out on trampoline.

This very accurately sums up homeschool. It has gotten better and I don't hover much at all anymore (they are pretty self-sufficient) but Olin will definitely take ample time out of the day to do various daydreaming/look out of the window/be in a daze. To know what goes through his mind.....!
