Beginning of June Miscellanea

Homemade chouquettes. We usually buy a cone of these at Le Panier but I came across a recipe for these in my new book I am reading, "Lunch in Paris", and they came out tasting pretty good and pretty close to the ones at Le Panier! I had the kids help me from start to finish and did not supervise them when they doled out the measurements. They ended up putting in a CUP of sugar versus a teaspoon. So we had to start from scratch. Round 2 was successful.

#O came out today. Dae took it out with floss, old-school-style. He had been dying to get his paws on one of Olin's loose teeth and his dream came true today when Olin let him.

Jo spent the night when her sisters were away for soccer so she came with us to golf lessons, 2 baseball games, a piano recital, Olive Garden, the pool, and a birthday party. hahaha.

Piano recital. Olin spontaneously tacked on an extra piece (star-spangled banner) in an inspired moment of great confidence.

Opening pool day, 2018. I hesitated about renewing our neighborhood pool membership this year because it's $450 for the summer, and we didn't use it that much last year. But I decided to renew because 1) we don't have CBRC and their Pelican Bay swim area anymore (since I joined Orange Theory and quit CBRC) so the kids don't really have any pool they can use regularly this summer and 2) I know the local neighborhood pools are struggling with membership and it would be sad to see them close, so I'm glad to keep our membership.

Ninja class. They love ninja class more than life itself. Monday night Ninja classes have become a Sagebrush Elementary meeting time, as 7 of the kids in this class are now Sagebrush kids. Our kids are working toward their green ninja bands (Level 3). Christian and Olin both need to make it across the 'slack line' which is swinging across this line with various hanging things, and I think Olin has to do 10 pull-ups but I'm not sure. The kids are begging for a ninja course. We adamantly say no, we are not building one. But we did order a pull-up bar for them as consolation. haha. Arriving tomorrow.

Cute snack one of the moms brought for the team.
