Breakfast! This was the calm before the storm (before our movers arrived with all our stuff, see end of post) |
Some fun stuff before the messy photos:
Lunch at Esperanza taco truck in Pasco - the most delicious Mexican food! |
These tacos deserve an XL image size |
Make-your-own pizzas at Stick & Stone (that funny smile & those chubby hands...) |
Leelee's mom's day show at school. He was so smiley the entire concert. |
Our current situation:
1) It's a huge mess. Unpacking with these two guys in tow has proven to be a little bit of a challenge.
2) I got Ikea couches for our family room (in back of photo) and they are probably the hardest couches I have ever had the pleasure of sitting on. Haha! I think I need to start going to real, adult stores for furniture and lay off the college furniture shops. In the meantime, these will have to do. We have neither the time (nor the current cash flow - ha!) for any more talk of new furnishings.
3) Kelly and family came over last night and brought Dr. Washington. It was really great. They brought Mandarin House dinner and power drills, so the men put together the master bed while Kelly and I unpacked nearly the entire kitchen. An invaluable help!!!
4) Things I love in our house: pretty much everything... It still feels like a dream. The things I particularly love:
- auto-open garbage can in the kitchen
- the hidden pantry, and the huge size of it
- having a countertop and sink in the pantry for our un-esthetic appliances (food processor, crock pot)
- the kids fitting neatly at the end of the island to eat breakfast and snacks, of which there are lots
- the hardwood floors
- the cable staircase rail
- new, plush carpet
- single-bowl kitchen sink
- soft-close cabinets
- a cabinet with dividers to put cookie sheets
- shelves for wine glasses
- coffee area
wow, i love your kitchen! if i have to remodel i'm definitely going to have to pick your brain!
