Kauai 2023

Island Tacos in Waimea after our little "hike" in the Waimea Canyon/Pu'u o Kila lookout area. Papaya shrimp tacos were very good.

Capt Andy's sunset cruise this time brought us to the Na Pali coast (last time it was too stormy) and it was really pretty. Sunset was very pretty as well.

All of these are 2012 and 2023

Wailua River kayak followed by hike to Secret Falls

Pickleball (free!) at Anne Knudsen park in Koloa. We went twice and had a great time.

Wailua Shave ice. They have this foam on top that's really good, and mochis

Secret Falls. It was very cold and very windy up there!

This hike was muddy and fun

Kenji Burgers in Lihue (?) before our Wailua River Kayak and hike

7-11 lunch! Spam musubis before lauhala bracelet making class

We put some of our fresh lilikoi (which was VERY tart) on yogurt and it was really tasty

We spotted this roadside beach (Kealia) and the second the kids spot any kind of a river leading to ocean they want to divert it. So they tried.

Moloa'a Fruit stand. For once, I didn't get Date with Fate! I got Sunrise Salute which was delicious too.

Lauhala bracelet making at the Kauai Museum with "Uncle Onio". This was great! Kids loved it.

Showing off our bracelets

Fruit tour we found through airbnb tours. We tasted soooo many different interesting things.  What we remembered: noni (really weird, tastes like cheese, and then numbs your mouth in the end), jackfruit (good, slimy), cara cara oranges, tangelo, acerbic cherry (tart, lots of Vitamin C), mulberry, rambutan (kids liked a lot), avocado, moringa (weird leaf type thing), lettuce, navel orange, coconut, apple banana (so good), tangerine, lilikoi (super tart, smells delicious), white guava (good) cacao (this was the most interesting to me. The fruit is really good, slimy, and white, and then you can eat the cacao part in the middle).

It was like a zoo at Poipu Beach! Lots of monk seals and turtles, all roped off.

We checked out Moloa'a Beach with a few extra minutes before our fruit tour

Love visiting the Lululemon store in Kauai for special aloha merchandise

We were hoping his hands would clear up with the humidity. I think they did a little. This was the beginning of our trip.

Football passing with two small spectators

Nighttime walks

Merriman's for a Christmas Eve dinner. Besides a dessert that was way too sweet it was yummy and fun!

Playing Connect 4 while waiting for me at Lululemon

We always like to walk to Starbucks in the morning, especially with rainbow!

We went on a lot of neighborhood walks near the golf course (Kiahuna) where our condo was. The neighborhood homes were really nice and we liked Zillowing how much they cost.

Fun on the airplane ride over with wiki stix
