RIP Driller and other events

As I hear a flushing of the toilet this evening, Dae says "well, Driller died". I was like what?! He says yeah we found him dried up on the carpet next to the fish tank. Dae was completely oblivious to the fact that every time one of our fish dies the kids and I bury it, name it (haha), and put a rock over it. He unceremoniously flushed Driller!

So we're down to one red and blue fish who seems to be hanging on to its last days.

I tried contacts for one week and it was a failure, not to mention traumatic. ha! I could not for the life of me get those contacts out of my eyes. It would take me 10 minutes with lots of eyeball touching, which I have no problem with, but caused a lot of irritation after a week. Back to glasses.

Went to Sporthaus for our annual ski gear rental for the kids. They each got weighed. Olin is 52, Christian is 92.

This fellow is constantly reading. He's probably averaging 2 books a week. He has fallen into a good group of 5 friends at school (they call themselves Blue Sapphire which is hilarious - three 5th grade girls, two 4th grade boys which I also find hilarious) and they talk books ALL the time.  Separately, the school sends photos of them daily doing their work and I noticed Olin's math lesson photo was with mostly 6th graders. I asked him why the 6th graders were in his math lesson and he said it's because the other 4th graders weren't at that level yet.  I was a little bit proud. :)

Advent was Cup O Noodles dinner

I haven't had a Cup O Noodles of my own for probably 20 years. They are 50 cents apiece at Fred Meyer.
