I'll take this opportunity to highlight one of Dae's funniest traits, which has to deal with shoes. He flat refuses to buy any shoe that would require him to bend in any way to put the shoe on. It literally has to slip on. I can't emphasize this slip-on requirement enough. I have found scores of shoes over the years - cute shoes - that are immediately vetoed if they have a lace or heaven forbid are a boot. Our selections are slim for this picky father.
So I snuck this photo at church this morning when Dae wasn't looking. hehehehehe. Dae has managed to transform this Sanuk into his very own slipper. It's not in fact a slipper - it has a back. At least it did until Dae's feet got ahold of them...
So of course I took it the next step further and I did some research to find a photo of his shoe in its original form.
And during my image search, what do you know? I came across this little gem below! Dae could have saved himself some major groundwork (pun intended!) and just bought the slipper version from the get-go.
And now to the kids. I asked them to pack their bags for California. (We are visiting Gong Gong and Grandma Joanne tomorrow!) They got busy for a while and then informed me they packed everything in to their bags. Imagine my surprise when I opened up each bag and found pretty much nothing. Olin's bag is comprised solely of these little melted bead crafts he made at after-care. Leelee's has all these little figurines and transformers, but they are tiny! They barely take up 1/5 of his suitcase.
No books, no paper, no games, no trains, no airplanes, no cars (I don't think)...even though I am tempted to interfere and pack some extra stuff in there, I am going to trust the kids on this one and assume they packed everything they need. They usually do - they usually don't tell me that they forgot something during our trip or wished they had brought something else.
