So yesterday's travels were pretty stress-free. We spent the entire day traveling, but arrived in New York around 7pm and right after we checked into the hotel we headed straight for Joe's Shanghai.
We were so hungry, and these were so absolutely delicious, we ordered 3 containers of these, shanghai fried noodles and buddha's delight! We ordered so much the waiter told me, in Chinese, that that was more than enough for 2 people. Dae and I laughed because they don't know how much we really can eat when it comes down to it.
We went to bed at 10pm and woke up this morning at 8:45am (Dae woke me because he knew I wanted to go for a jog before breakfast closed at 11am). Basically we slept for almost 11 solid hours. I do not remember ever feeling so rested in my life. Dae said he is sure he went through "3 solid REM cycles".
Today we hit Uniqlo (always a success there. Inexpensive simple clothes and free alterations same-day), Top of the Rock viewing area, Times Square, and about a billion Citibike stations before giving up since none of them were functioning. Darn. I really wanted to rent one of those bikes.
It's hot and humid here. It's a good 15-20 degrees cooler than Richland, but it feels almost exactly the same because of the humidity...interesting.
$9 new sunglasses from Uniqlo. I love them :) |
