Falling in to Fall

Although the weather doesn’t feel like Fall, we are definitely in to the swing of school and fall sports. I mourn the end of summer every year but always forget how pleasant it is to make the switch to the new season.

Too good

The half Ironman hit Richland and runners passed right by our house! The xc team signed up to give out water and we were out in Harris in front of Marsha’s house cheering people on. It was so fun!

During the Wenatchee meet they finished Top 10 in their category (JV sophomores) and got a shirt! They also qualified for Portland this weekend and were really excited about that.

Olin’s CK experience has been a lot of new things to learn and I’ve been very proud of how hard he’s working and his good attitude. Here is his ecosystem project on chinook salmon. 

Mal goes to UW, and weekend athletics

First-ever mention in the HHS weekly recap for Christian! He finished first among HHS kids at the Hermiston race and juuust missed his sub 20 minute goal by a couple seconds. He said he ran his heart out. 

Mal is a Gamma Phi! After a crazy rush week she moved in, and we visited immediately and dropped off a bag of QFC snacks. We also took her to Portage Bay Cafe for breakfast on Sunday. 

Funny to see Christian and Henry at the front of the pack starting. This was sophomores and freshman JV. He did, however, get the best overall time among all JV HHS including juniors and seniors. Well done!

First meet a 2-miler at Leslie groves! He did great. He beat last year’s time by about 30 seconds 

Inspired to do homemade pasta after making it at mal and Didi’s last month. We made carbonara and it was delicious!

 

Olin turns 13!!!

Happy Birthday sweet Olin!!! The day started off with gifts (iPhone 13 mini handed down from yours truly, pencil and wood craft from Ursula and Amy, Amazon gift card from Kincaids, iPhone holder from Robertsons in addition to the gifts they gave him last month, $100 from Halmoni and haraboji, college money, adidas slides and cash from puo puo, wood craft, book from us), chocolate pancakes, then he went to school laden with Pocky for his classmates, all his soccer stuff and his PE shoes. After school was his first soccer practice, then straight to Fujiyama for dinner with Kian Claira and Teddy and then back home with Kincaid kids for cake! It was a packed day and I think Olin had a great time!

Dollar store ran out of the big “1”s. We were laughing.

My Bday - 47!

My Bday was very nice. It started off with gifts (my carpet cleaner I got weeks ago, Beats Pro ear pods, and gifts from friends; YSL gloss from Megan, Venetian stationary and hazelnut fudge from Amy, a beautiful baking dish and apron from Alaina, and a Kopari SPF, Geometry dish towels (the best), Moroccan hair gloss treatment and Lululemon keychain from Kel).  Some seriously thoughtful gifts. I always love them.

We ran Christian's cross country Pie Run in Pasco as a family. I think he crossed the line around 21 minutes, Olin at 30:45 which I was impressed but he was super bummed because his goal was to beat his last year's 30:00 time, me at 37 something and Dae at 37 something about 20 seconds behind me. I then had lunch at Perch with Alaina, relaxed at home and had dinner at Lulu with Dae and the kids. A BR cake and a movie (Wicked Little Letters) which was hilarious rounded out an awesome day!

3rd place in my division but I’m thinking it was also last place in my division.
