Mole Day, Etc

He had been asking to do some archery since camp a few years back so I finally signed him up at Ranch & Home. He enjoyed it!

Nice lighting on an after dinner 20 min walk

Olin wanted to time himself on a mile run so he thinks he ran 8:15 or so.

Extra credit mole Christian sewed together for Mole Day. It's Sherlock Holmes mole.

Fall Sports

Ice baths at one of the team potlucks the night before a race earlier this season

One of the moms took some nice photos

H&H donated to Olin's jogathon sent in a graduation card. haha

School soccer against teacher Ken who Olin says "boots the ball really well".

I feel the red socks are very snazzy!

Saturday walk and a heart leaf

Nice roses on the walk

Busy weeks

Our weeks have been busy and I am grateful for that!

Annular eclipse on 10/14/2023. It didn't get very dark out but I think, with glasses, or through a phone, you could see the sun being eclipsed by the moon

Proud of this fella, he earned a jacket (loaner) by PR-ing a race by 2 minutes or more!

PS4 hand-me-down from Didi. Great gift!

the four 6th graders making signs for their 6th grade bake sale!

Olin likes to pick carrots that make this pattern every day for lunch

I started volunteering for Meals on Wheels and I enjoyed my first day

Lawrence Scott park in Kennewick. He did 3 miles in 18:54 which is about a 5k in 19:30 or so? Unclear, but suffice it to say he PR'd! I made him run with me today at 'race pace' and I couldn't last more than about 100m.

Olin's last jogathon. He's steady as always. He's hoping he got over 40 laps but the final count will come out next week.

Bake sale!

Incredible game. Action packed until the final seconds, literally, as Oregon missed a 43 yard field goal with 4 seconds left and we won.

Free Lunch

One of the first days of school Christian and Henry were hanging out in the cafeteria after school and the cafeteria worker said they could have free lunch after School, so they scanned their ASB badges and got free lunch. It's always fun for me to log on to the Meals website and see how many free after school lunches he gets. It's close to every day. I'm glad he's getting fed, and I'm glad our tax dollars are being returned to us in some form!!

Sports, Jump Roping and Pumpkin Patches

This might be his last pumpkin patch for sometime! Middleton Farms, and I was working but another parent snapped this.
Never gets old. I used to hear Olin say "how many credits" and Christian would say something like "10 credits" as in Christian had to pay Olin 10 credits in order to clean his ears out because according to Olin "he wanted to do it all the time"
Practicing his jump rope tricks
I really need to take some better soccer pics. We're just so far away on the sidelines!
Olin and I had two soccer away games this weekend while Dae was on call and Christian was at a home meet (another PR of 20:09 for a 5K!!!). So on the way back from Wenatchee we stopped by Cave B - I've always wanted to see it - and snapped a nice photo with these pretty trees in the background. In Wenatchee they had their first win!

Funny anecdote from Saturday at 7:30pm:
Me: Olin did you have dinner?
Olin: Oh yeah...I was wondering why I was hungry

Beginning of Fall

New Nike suit from cousins! He loves it

Yakima Sunfair meet. He ran 3 miles in 20:34 which is about the equivalent of a 5K in 21:17 (which is a 6:51 mile pace). Another PR! After the meet, Alaina dropped us at the Valley Mall where we shopped at TJ Maxx, Marshall's, and Nordstrom Rack until Dae and Olin picked us up an hour later. They had been at Olin's soccer game in Kennewick. Shopping was fun!

The kids had been to the Ballard locks a few times with Puops but Dae and I had never been, and it was cool. These boats load up on to this 'tub', the water level rises and falls with the tub and then they get deposited on the other side.

Secret Congee restaurant in Ballard. Was delicious!
