Christmas (on Dec. 21)

We celebrated Christmas early this year since we leave for Seattle and then Kauai tomorrow. So this morning the kids got up around 7am and opened gifts. We got them a shared Lego (succulents), and then Christian got a book (The Firm by John Grisham), a running belt from cousins in Georgia, Goodr sunglasses, a PackIt Lunch container with separate dividers, and some money. Olin got the same PackIt lunch container, lots of books including one on state capitals, the Silo book series and some money. They also each got a loofah in their stockings. haha.

They also got, early, a computer for Christian and a scooter for Olin. Well, half a computer since Christian had to earn the other half.

A great day!

Olin's Finished Works

Olin will come home every couple months with a folder of Finished Works from Sagebrush. We sit on the couch and go through them and it's very enjoyable to see his works, read his works, and get his explanations on everything.

He told me he used this index card for his "Where the Red Fern Grows" presentation. I asked if he needed this notecard (since there were so few bullet points on it) and he said "maybe not, but I felt like it looked professional". hahaha

Olin said any time he gets more than 60 on a Minute Math he puts a big smiley face on it.

Funny

He is very accurate on his self-reflections. Especially the part about the sweatshirt, and it was so funny that he wrote "better be safe than sorry".

Holiday Fun, Continued...

Doctor's appointment, well-child

Spudnut Advent

New better quality scooter for Olin early Christmas! They were saying their Razr's are pretty much the worst quality you can have. I guess that's what $25 got you back in the day!

His Lenovo arrived! He worked hard for about 6 months accumulating points which then transferred over to about half of the cost of his computer. We found every deal we could, including Rakuten, to lower the price.

Christmas program. Olin played The First Noel in a crowd sing-along and was great, and Christian played Moonlight/What Child is This which he also played last year which I love.

Christmas in Seattle 2023

How lucky are we that we get to celebrate all month with all sorts of family from all parts of the country! We had a great time at Puops and Wang Ye-ye's house and the kids all spent the night (along with me, Ev and Jeff) Saturday night.

Feast Buffet

Dubs up! Washington just won the Pac-12 championship (against Oregon!) the Friday night prior so everyone was in jovial spirits

H&H arrive

H&H arrived for Thanksgiving for a couple weeks and we have settled in to the swing of lots of good Korean food and Korean soaps.

Olin meeting up with neighbors for Dungeons & Dragons - first time!

Turkey Tennis Tournament! They weren't all that excited about the outcome - they probably won a third of the games and lost 2/3. But it was fun to get their feet wet and do their first tennis tournament.

Husky Weekend

We witnessed an exhilarating win against Utah to make our season 10-0. Didi and Ev came up for the weekend and spent the night in the condo, and Puops met us for dinner at U-District. We had a great time!

This was so cool
