May 2022

Went for a slow and short jog today while kids biked. They both experienced a sudden onset allergy attack and sat on the bench to rub their eyes and wait for me. Haha.

Cake bites that we made for Roots & Shoots committee bake sale at Sagebrush that we were very proud of. They sold out! Olin had told me they asked him to be on the roots & shoots committee because they needed more items for the bake sale. Ha! Nice and upfront communication at least.

Family Fun Day at sagebrush. It was great! Potato sack race.

I was reading/napping and heard them
chatting in their room so I wandered over and saw them
both cleaning out their “special items” boxes they keep under their bed.

Mom's 74th, Christian returns, A Lost Tooth

Plucked out #R, lower right canine, during our car ride home.

Boba tea in Factoria. Didn't stack up to Ding Tea but it appeased us for the time being.

So pretty outside puops house

This is 74! We celebrated Puops a day early and brought over Facing East, a Taiwanese restaurant that changed to just take-out but I had heard great things about. It was really good. We had a nice time together.

Christian had a good time at camp but admitted that "maybe I had set my expectations way too high!". haha

Out of order but Dae taking a photo of C taking a photo

Since camp return (2 days ago) there have been 8 covid positives among 7th grade so they canceled school for the next 3 days. Sigh.....

Celebrating Mal's 16th early and Christian leaves for Camp Orkila

Overnighter trip to Portland to celebrate Mal turning 16 on May 20th! We also managed to squeeze in takeout hamburgers, a trip to Adidas employee store, Warby Parker, Ding Tea bubble tea, Blind Onion pizza, and a trip to O'Reilly auto parts for new wipers that Ev of course helped me install. haha.

Dae took Christian to CK at the eye popping hour of 3:40am this morning to board the bus to Camp Orkila on Orcas Island. They arrived at noon. I was pretty impressed that the school is ambitious enough to leave at 4am in order to make it to camp on time! I guess they have to deal with ferry schedules and such so it's a pretty rigid leaving time. He is SO excited for camp. I think he feels like it's his first real time away from us, besides the two-nighter camps that Sagebrush has annually.

We arrived home from Portland yesterday on Mother's Day and had an Anthony's dinner with Dae to celebrate. I got a card, flowers, and Chukar Cherries. Dae kept asking if I wanted anything and I said no, but I told him I did order a humidifier coming Wednesday that can be a present from him to me!

They biked and scooted to Guilder coffee

Tiniest cake ever. I ordered it online, had no idea the size.

We had some arm wrestling bouts at the end of dinner. Christian can almost beat me.

Day-to-Day

Back to a routine. I spiced things up and took the kids to Crumbl after school yesterday. Also, a snapshot of the kids’ room every morning. Gives me a little chuckle…

Well child visit. His BP was a little low (80/64) so they did a longer blood pressure check and told him to make sure he was WELL hydrated. ...
