Sporting Events

Huskies won 6th apple cup in a row! Game was in Pullman in full snow conditions.

Timbers play-off game! They played Sporting Kansas City. Tied 0-0. We stayed overnight at the Nines Hotel and walked to the game which was nice.

Practically the first peeps to arrive as we wanted to be plenty early...

This was called "Swap Day" where you dress like someone else at school. Olin asked me to email his teacher and ask what he was wearing on Swap Day. Teacher said he told the kids he'd wear a full suit, so we actually managed to piecemeal together this outfit from their closet. A navy sport coat (J crew from jocelyn), navy pants (Old Navy), tie (J crew from jocelyn) and white button up shirt (short sleeve and from Old navy). He actually looked quite sharp. It was really cute.
Thanksgiving with Safranskis...and more Safranskis!  I didn't notice the turkey in the photo until later. Dutch also made an appearance. And we invited the on-call surgeon, Eugene, to join us but he wasn't in the photo because he was the photographer.

Family Golf

I asked Dae if he snapped any pics of me golfing. Nope. (The one time I golf in the past 2+ years...no evidence!)

So sunny. By the end (of a mere 6 holes), SO cold.

They both drive the carts by themselves. Had no idea they could. It's hilarious.

Olin's steering isn't quite as accurate as it could be but he got better even in the one day.

Chess Begins, 2018-2019 School Year

Kids had their first chess tournament of the school year yesterday. The entire family stayed the entire day and it was, as usual, quite fun. haha. Lots of kids, snacks, lunch, playing, chess.

3rd place in K-1 division

State medal. Both boys qualified for State this tournament (you have to get 3+ points at any given tournament to qualify for state). Woohoo! It is in Tacoma in April so it'll be nice to stay in Seattle.

Our school won 1st place in the K-3 division

This is how the kids track their games throughout. Pretty funny. This list got very cluttered with their art.  A number of .5 means a draw.

Condo Reno + Reading

Reading Harry Potter 1. We mostly read it to him but he can read some himself, too.

Reading the last Harry Potter from the library. It's the book that's actually a play script.

Alaina and I did a trial run of having the kids walk by themselves the .25 miles to her house from mine. Once they've got a couple practice runs under their belt we will feel comfortable sending them over whenever they want which will be really nice! They looked so small.

New Floors in Condo! Finally. 4 months after the leak. I think we subconsciously chose flooring and carpet that look exactly like our Richland home. hahaha.

H & H left to go back to Tennessee and Dae left for NYC for a conference so the kids ate leftover Korean food and we watched a lot of Flip or Flop this week.

Bed

There hasn't been a lot new going on since the only photos I have on my phone are the following:

Morning TV. Mostly "Outrageous Acts of Science"

We all passed out. Dae got home from the hospital and found us like this, bed strewn with kids, kindles, books, remote controls. None of us had brushed teeth. :(

"Best Trip Ever"

Six of us drove up yesterday (Halmoni and Haraboji + us) only to walk in to the condo in a non-livable state! It was hilarious. We barely even put our bags down. We just took a bathroom break, all of us, and hit the road back to Richland! All the flooring was gone and all the furniture was stowed away and not usable. On the plus side it was raining quite hard in Seattle and it's sunny as can be in Richland.

Well, at least it looks like the flooring has arrived.....

More Jog-A-Thon Photos + a Sunset

These boys sprinted the first lap out (no pacing whatsoever) and then almost immediately they all petered out to a jog. Christian and Henry ran together the entire time and both did really well. I was proud of them for not really walking at all.

Teacher Terri was there at the jogathon and told me she observed Olin and he was very serious and paced himself the entire time. He does take certain tasks very seriously which I love and find very funny.

This is his face when he knows someone is watching him. It's hard to tell, but it's a pleased, small smile.

The whole sky was red and colored pretty almost the entire afternoon. Funny thing, we were talking about the sky at dinner and both Dae and I, separately, had taken photos of it after work.

Halloween 2018

Carving pumpkins on the 30th. Christian carved a bat and crescent moon. Olin carved a nice face on one side and scary face on the other. We carved it, rather....

The caption from teacher was "practicing ukulele" at school, in costume

Not too many kids out tonight! We barely passed any kids the whole night, but we did do Harris which is usually pretty quiet because the houses are so far spread out. They did get a good portion of full-sized candy bars and for the first time we handed out full-sized candy bars. We left our candy bowls out so I don't know how many kids came by but I think less than last year. Darn - just when I thought the numbers were going up!

Christian's words. He has had a really easy time with spelling this year but this week had a hard time remembering that immigrant was 2 m's and an i rather than an a after the 2 m's.

Olin spelling list. He had a tougher time with laughed, enough, future. He had no problems with the -graph words. I am curious to see how he does on tests since none of them have ever come home.

Camp & Crutches

One boy went to camp Lutherhaven for the week (4 nights) and the other went to a track meet Wednesday, suffered an avulsion fracture, and is...
