A Nap, An Adult Yellow Belt

Olin stopped napping prematurely. He abruptly terminated around age 2 -  I would have been happy with another 3 years. Every once in a while, however, he still passes out at funny places, usually upstairs hallway...

New taco truck on Lee Blvd across from Fran Rish Stadium. It is good! Olin and I spotted it last week and just as I was going to propose stopping there for lunch, Olin asked if we could eat there.

Chicken quesadilla and 4 asada tacos

In adult Tae Kwon Do news, I received my yellow belt on Tuesday. :) I was excited. Now I am on par with Leelee, at least for the time being. Too bad we are pausing Tae Kwon Do for 2 months because I have managed to completely over schedule Leelee without realizing it. This has been our week:

  • Tuesday: Chess 4-5pm, Little league 5:30 - 6:45pm, Tae Kwon Do 7:30-8:15pm
  • Wednesday: Piano 4:20-5:05pm, Soccer 5:30-6:30pm
  • Thursday: Little league 5:30-6:45pm, Tae Kwon Do 7:30-8:15pm

We scrambled all week eating dinners in the car and driving a whole bunch of places. Olin basically got dragged everywhere until I asked our babysitter Lucy to watch him while I coached (for the first time!) Leelee's ASE soccer practice yesterday. It's not really traditional coaching, more like supervising drills with a group of kids. Leelee did not like it very much. haha. He prefers games over drills (...who doesn't!). It's all skill-based and ball handling skills. So the kid has a ball the entire time and are practicing lots of touches and lots of repetitions. Anyway, I told him we signed up and we are going to do it even if it's 'hard work'.

Happy 7th Birthday Christian!!!

We love you so much and have been so proud at how kind, sensitive, sweet, full of love, and smart boy you continue to be!

7:00am: Came downstairs to presents and balloons and decorations.

Pillsbury Extra Large crescent rolls with a candle

I had to take a photo of my finished kombucha (absolutely delicious). Better than store bought.

School celebration! Teacher Samantha. In the background is his timeline of photos. The kids asked questions of his photos afterward, such as "where is Schweitzer? What time were you skiing? I thought there were only 3 seater bikes. What pool were you swimming in? What park were you swinging in?" They were so cute! I caught it all on video. I could tell Leelee was very, very nervous to stand up and say the descriptions of each photo. It's good for him to do stuff like that.

All the kids herded around him while eating their birthday snack. Olin was also invited to the big kids' table.

Clockwise from Leelee: Henry, Sophia, Ethan B, Keshav, Olin Arntzen, Broc, Ender, Prayrona, Rowan, Olin Lee

Oh yes, it's Fujiyama with the usual suspects.

BR cake. For the first time, I ordered white cake instead of chocolate. MUCH better. Much more moist than the dry chocolate cake.

Happy Easter!

Paas. They now come in ready-to-dye cups. Super convenient.
Olin's eggs. He dropped and broke about 3 of them - thank goodness for hard boiling.

Leelee's eggs.

Our backyard Easter Egg Hunt in PJ's. Oh the kids were excited. I remember I used to get super excited when my dad would do an Easter Egg hunt for us in the backyard.

One basket broke so Leelee used my farmer's market basket.
Easter Dinner at Supermex in Pasco. My new favorite place. :) It was so delicious and we leisurely perused all the Mexican groceries afterward, getting some good deals on avocados, Tajin seasoning, XXtra hot cheetos, and other Mexican items. (Olin wasn't intentionally facing the other way in this photo, but it did turn out funny.)
Look at this sunrise out our window last week! And a little glimpse of the Columbia River we get to enjoy from our window.
Leelee's tae kwon do photos. He chose this pose (high block). So cute.
Good lighting for a selfie. Also a good shot of permanent teeth #24 and 25
Caviar at Dr. Hsieh's annual Chinese New Year BBQ. He had flown in lobster from Maine and crab from Alaska!

Olin's Camera

I have never looked through Olin's camera until recently. It is pretty entertaining. Who knew they were so savvy with this camera!

Seattle with Selynn and Minah

Met up for the night with old Portland friends Minah and Selynn and had a nice time at the condo! Olin’s fall soccer photo finally came in  ...
