6:00am: Everybody wakes up. Dae and I eyeball each other to see who gets the master bathroom. Kids are usually in our bed by this point in the morning.
6:30am: Kids eat breakfast. Some usual offerings are oatmeal, egg, yogurt, cereal, apple, eggo waffle (not at the same time). I make their lunch. Usually it's leftovers + apple/fruit + veggie/hummus + yogurt. Today, they got PB & J instead of leftovers.

On the road. We leave the house by 7:25am at latest, 7:20am on a good morning. |
First stop, Leelee school. We have 4 loads of garbage bag stuff to drop off for their Textile Drive fundraiser (thanks for the contributions, mom!) |
Walking in to Sagebrush Elementary. The building is an old converted firehouse. |
His classroom. It's PE day today (fridays) so he wears his Adidas track pants. :) |
In the mornings, it's usually just Leelee and maybe one other kid during the before-care. Here he is with the teacher's aid Colene. She is very nice. |
We then drive the 1/2 mile to Olin's school. See the litter on the floor? This it the current state of my Volvo, always. The little cream colored circles are macadamia nuts, which Olin loves! |

Walking in to Sagebrush Montessori |
Olin likes to hide behind the door... |
...and then shout "boo" when he pops out. Here is Jill. |
Off to work. I have been sick for the past 3 days. I fully lost my voice today so I have been drinking this concoction of water, lemon, ginger, cinnamon, turmeric, honey. |
NPR, always. |
Arrival at work. |
My favorite assistant, Mayra. I just returned this book she loaned me. Good old J.Lo - a great one day read with lots of great pictures. haha. |
Looking all sorts of terrible at work. No make-up, no voice, it was borderline unprofessional. |
Work |
Out to my car. My patient care ends at 4:30 so I am able to pick up the kids before the 5pm cut off. Sometimes I finish up with patients early. |
Olin's pick-up. He runs really fast and really excited when he sees me. Some of the regulars at after-care are Paige (his favorite), Liam, Ashton. |
Picking up Christian from after-care. Here is teacher's aide Jerrod who is cut off in the photo on the left. |
Looking through all the kids' paperwork in the car. Book orders, a slip of paper noting what Christian is supposed to wear for 'spirit day' on Monday. It's 'twin day' so he's dressing as twins with another boy, Andrew. Their twin outfit will be the exciting combination of a white short sleeved shirt and brown pants. |
Making dinner. My dinners are not usually gourmet affairs, but today was particularly simple, consisting of spaghetti and broccoli. Sick mom and no time equals boring dinner. |
I'm ashamed to admit that quite often there are Amazon packages on our doorstep when we get home. BUT, there are lots of practical items (books) littered amongst the junk, like the onion-cutting goggles I ordered for $9 that arrived today, which probably won't work based on my initial cursory assessment. |
Dinnertime. I've been using the heck out of these TJ Maxx bowls. Aren't they beautiful? The kids still love milk. Side note: I'm thinking of eliminating the plastic and going toward stainless steel for the kids' dinnerware...that blue Ikea cup just jogged my memory. |
This is what Olin did when I told him to get changed and start brushing his teeth. He unraveled a jump rope in his room. |
This is what Leelee did when I told him to get changed and brush his teeth. He is changed, and his teeth are getting brushed. :) |
I brushed my teeth too. Scrubs still on, bags under eyes, not feeling well at all. Usually we do not get ready for bed at 5:30pm but I had warned the kids that today was going be an early night and they could play in their room after getting ready for bed. |
A little playtime while they patiently await a show |
Doc McStuffins for the family |
Laundry. Never ending. Daily task. We need to start wearing our clothes more before we wash them. |
Post - 6:18pm: I have been reading/iPhoning in bed and Dae is seriously swamped at work. He has been overloaded with patients this past week. Hopefully the weekend will ease up on him a little bit.
