Teeth O & P
Teeth O & P (lower incisors, central) are about equally loose on Leelee. They really loosened up over the past couple of weeks. I don't think they will come out during our Disney cruise next week and I hope they do not, because I don't think the Disney cruise tooth fairy has the same gold Sacajawea dollars that the Richland tooth fairy is armed with!

More Olin Afternoons
Jesus & God
Backseat conversations
Olin: "Is Jesus and God is friends?"
Christian: "Yeah. But then Jesus died"
Olin: "And God had to get a new friend?"
Christian: (said something about how we were rescued after Jesus died. Clearly learned in church!)

No cavities for either boy! Yahoo!!! |
Microwave hard-boiled egg boiler. I love it. |
Danielle babysat for 2 hours yesterday and then Dae texted this photo of how he found Olin. Press-on nails! Just look at those chubbies. |
Lunch with dad. I don't think I've ever even set foot in this McDonalds. Thankfully. |

My Olin Afternoons
My weekday afternoons consist me + Olin. I always feel guilty because I find myself generally trying to 'get stuff done'. Whether that be dragging him to Costco, errands, grocery store, or being on the computer, it is a compulsion...I just want to get stuff done! (either that, or nap. hahaha!) On the other hand, it is so enjoyable to spend a few hours every day one-on-one with the little guy.
In other news, Christian lately has been a little moody. I can't quite figure out if he's unhappy about something, or school is stressful, or he is just plain tired. But on any given day he will fluctuate between very happy and excitable to very sullen and non responsive. Probably the last month or so.
In yet other news, Dae's parents left today after a month long stay. I was sad to see them go. While it is nice to have some true time to myself in the mornings, they are quite helpful and almost always cheerful. (Wish I could say the same for myself. hahaha!)
I really enjoy talking with the kids when they are in the car with me. I always ask if they want to talk. Sometimes now Olin will ask if I want to talk, and what I want to talk about. We have been playing guess-the-animal game as well as some math problems for the kids. Examples: Olin, say you have 5 teachers at school but 2 of them go home sick. How many do you have left? Or Christian, say you have 12 grapes that you have to split evenly among 4 people in the car. How many does each person get? Christian gets a little stumped on division. He usually gets it, it just takes him a bit longer.
During guess-the-animal game with Olin today, I was laughing like crazy.
- I was describing a tiger and told him it started with a "T" sound. He guessed "Terri" and "Tae Kwon Do".
- I was describing a green animal with 4 legs and it jumps. I told him it starts off life as a tadpole. Olin guessed "Grizzly Bear"?
- Olin told me he was thinking of an animal that was purple, with 5 eyes. I could not for the life of me figure out what he was talking about. His answer: A purple monster with 5 eyes.
- Yesterday in the car after lunch I told Olin that wow, he had eaten well today. He said "Yup, I am a expert eater!"

Schweitzer - Days 2 and 3
We got bunny hill lift tickets yesterday and skied the entire day with the kids. Leelee pretty much skied straight down, wedged, and fast, and liked to show us his 'jumps'. We got Olin a harness-type thing that we had seen other people using. He liked it. He loved the chairlift and kept asking to go on it again and again. Leelee got promoted from a Red jersey to a Green jersey in ability. :)

Schweitzer, Day 1
These kids could not wait to get their helmets on. With or without clothes...
It was overcast and absolutely beautiful! This hill didn't photograph as well as I would have liked, but there was a drop in the hill and a cloud cover and it made us a little disoriented. |
Contemplating sports over a couple of beers in the lodge. Day 1 consisted of kids at KinderCamp doing 2 ski lessons. Leelee moved up from Red to Green! |
He did 2 lessons! And stayed upright! He did so much better than last year. What a difference a year makes. |
Super foggy by the end of the day. Could barely see the slopes. |

Date Night with Christian
Leelee and and I had a date night last night. It consisted of a tae kwon do class and dinner at Sushi Mori. It was very enjoyable. I even had a beer on our date. hehehe.
Things that I love that I want to remember
1. When I pick up Olin, 9 out of 10 times, to this day, he will place his head on my left shoulder. We call it the 'old' shoulder and sometimes he opts for my right, or new, shoulder. When he's in a bad mood I will lift him up and ask if he wants the old shoulder or new shoulder and that usually gets him smiling.
2. A few times this summer Olin's feet smelled like vinegar. So I call them the vinegars. As in: "I'm going to smell your vinegars!". He usually says "nooooo!"

That's Rude
Olin's new saying is "that's rude". Anytime he is mad or offended by anything, particularly anything Christian says, he responds with "That's Ruuuude"
Tell them to smile and this is what I get. |
