Thanksgiving 2015 - Seattle!

My mom hosted Thanksgiving this year in Seattle and we had a great time. Weather was perfect (sunny and cold) and the 4 kids rough-housed and played alllll weekend long.

First, a NSFW photo of Olin lounging, watching TV

The whole crew on a Thanksgiving morning walk around my mom's neighborhood, with the nice Seattle skyline in the back.

Dawgs won Apple Cup 45-10!

Fuel for Black Friday. As usual, we went out for the fun rather than to actually look at stuff. But I did want to check out MacBooks with Black Friday sales and Ev's tax-free Oregon savings! Mal was a welcome addition to our BF gang.
We actually stood in line for an hour, for fun. It was really cold, but we got in on some great deals. Mal & Mom: iPad covers with keyboard discounted to $26.99, regular $79.99. MacBook Air regularly $899 + tax that I got for $700 total. And an iPad Mini at Target for $269 (+ an $80 Target gift card that I can put to use in the blink of an eye!)

Olin's headrest. Ever so slightly too tall.

Here's to hoping that Beco did not miscalculate its 40-pound weight limit on this carrier. 4 years old, in a carrier? In our household yes.

Great Wolf & Seattle weekend

Took him for a jog in the Bob stroller for the first time in years, armed with iPad and hot chocolate.  Look at his hot chocolate mustache.

Din Tai Fung. Always worth the wait.
The only photo we took at Great Wolf Lodge. Kids and their magi-wands.

Best hotel room! Inn at the Market.

They never get tired of watching Beecher cheese-making (or Beecher mac-n-cheese eating). I don't really understand the draw - looks fairly boring to me!

Eyes covered, Part II

I wanted a shot with Pike Place stalls empty at night

Sushi Kashiba right next to our hotel. It was so convenient! When Leelee spilled soy sauce all over his outfit we just walked 15 feet to our hotel and changed him.

Gum wall will apparently not be laid to rest anytime soon...

November: Haircuts, Beds

This morning, Olin hollered at me at 4am to come lay with him in bed. I woke up 3 hours later, alone, in his twin. After some investigation, I wandered over to our bedroom to find Olin alone in our King sized bed. Sheesh. What gives?

Didn't capture a photo of Olin, so here is one of Dae the other night, passed out, for your viewing pleasure. hehehe

I still vacuum their heads like a Flow-bee after I cut their hair.

Leelee's new trick. And new camo pants from Costco. He wanted them because "teacher Jerrod used to be in the military"

Leelee drafted this report (in place of homework). Dae found a nicely worded website and Leelee copied it. He is completely obsessed with the Japanese Maglev Bullet train and the Boeing Dreamliner.

1st Piano Recital/Ribbon Festival

Leelee's first Ribbon festival "recital". He played a couple of pieces by memory (Ode to Joy, barn song, and another one) and a duet with me (Good King Wenceslas), some scales, chords and arpeggios. 9 ribbons were had. He was so calm, played so well, seemed so natural. If he was nervous he didn't show it!
We rewarded the kids with Stick + Stone make-your-own pizza. They have been begging us to go for months. Leelee always asks for pineapple, they never never have it, and this time he settled for just cheese and mushrooms. Olin always orders pepperoni.
Olin likes to sit next to me, always. He is always down for selfies too.

Daycare provider Jill painted his nails on Thursday. I get a good chuckle every time I see him doing something with those chubby painted nails. BTW he looooves Jill and always asks if it is a Jill-day (the long days when I work and he stays late)

Weather Patterns in Richland

Thursday I walked out the door at work and straight ahead in the parking lot was this double rainbow...I looked to my left and was met with this pink sky. It actually made me stop for a second!

Friday there was intense fog in the morning, but this was such a pretty street right by Leelee's school.

Gong Gong Visits and Pomegranate People

We had a very pleasant and relaxing weekend with gong gong! We partook in some Granny's, Sushi Mori, Halloween dinner, and flying kites in the major wind.

Hanford High School. Lots of wind + sun = good kite flying weather.
I kept forgetting to get a close-up pic of gong gong and the kids. So this is the best we got.
Halloween! Here we have a spider-webbed soccer player who opted for corduroy pants instead of soccer shorts.
The usual suspects from last year. Our North Richland neighborhood trick-or-treating is definitely perking up. Lots more houses on Harris with their lights on. Hooray! Lightning McQueen costume (Olin) has been put to use the last 6 years straight, give or take?  I'm hoping to squeeze yet another year out of it next year.
Olin during Dae and my golf lesson today. Between family swimming lessons and golf we're jam packed with lessons on Mondays.
Pomegranates. I have become a whiz at de-seeding these puppies. Olin and I have been eating them, spoonful after spoonful, almost every day. We can get through 2 full pomegranates pretty easily in one sitting, after which Olin usually complains of a stomachache.

Well child visit. His BP was a little low (80/64) so they did a longer blood pressure check and told him to make sure he was WELL hydrated. ...
