Leelee was tasked with composing a song, and he came up with this little train jig.
I particularly like: 1) The notes coming out of the train steam and 2) the very precise couplers between the train cars.
Notice the complex change in beat from 3/4 to 4/4..... :)

Friday Night Lights
Our book club just finished the book "Friday Night Lights", so it was fitting that we headed to Fran Rish stadium last night, where Hanford (3-0) took on Richland (2-1). The game was terrible, ending at 45-7 in Richland's favor, but the stadium was absolutely packed! I have not been back to our football stadium since I was in high school 20+ years ago. What I noticed is that there are now a ton of cheerleaders (like 30) and that Hanford's team was considerably smaller in size (weight) than Richland's.
The boys used some of their allowance and each got one pack of candy. They finished off their pack and both had stomachaches on the ride home. I am glad!

Needed something purple - Husky gear was all we had. |

I finally got some of the kids' maps laminated and strung up. I love their maps and they had been sitting, neglected, in corners of our house for too long. |

Completely out. Dae snapped this beauty. (Both mother and son love our sleep...) |
The next 4 photos were taken by Christian. I find them funny.
Leelee saved up his allowance for a month to buy this $7.99 transformer. |

2nd Annual Bian's and Kids' Pendleton Round-up
We caught the Indian Relay this year, after having no idea what was going on last year and totally missing it. It was great! 4 riders, each of them had 3 different horses. Bareback, and a little bit of chaos during the horse transitions. How they ride bareback, at breakneck speed, astounds me!

Dragged kids to Pendleton Woolen Mills. None of them wanted to go, and they voiced their opinions loudly! |

Coeur d'Alene & Portland
Just returned from a weekend in Portland visiting Ev & Jeff and attending Warrior Dash (2nd annual for me). A great time, lots of mud, a white t-shirt that will never again resemble white, Korean groceries, Trader Joe's, and LOTS of Lego building for Didi & Leelee, and sometimes Olin. The two older boys get totally fixated on the Legos. They are usually pretty quiet while totally concentrating on their work, and they will periodically hook up their individual masterpieces to form some humongous 'submarine' or something. Very cute.
Meanwhile, Warrior Dash...it was the same crew as last year (Ev's friend Aaron from high school who has done it 5 years) and the two of us. We have combined our last names of Bian and Becker to form "Bianecker '15" which I then shortened to "Bicker '15" - hahaha.

Done. This year was much harder, and filled with many more fun obstacles, than last year. |

Coffee sleeve mustache, finger mustache, and an Einstein bagel smile. Their Lego masterpiece joined them at the breakfast table. Heaven forbid they leave it for one second! |

Hollywood Farmer's Market. Nobody liked the watermelon drink. What gives? |
Over Labor Day weekend, my friend from work, Mehak got married in a multi-day Indian and American ceremony in Coeur d'Alene. My mom came over (thanks a mil!) and watched the kids. Dae and I spent the weekend at the Couer d'Alene resort which was awesome. I liked it a lot. The wedding was gorgeous.

My mom sent us periodic updates on the kids, which I enjoyed. They jumped it up at GetAir trampoline park.
Leelee told my mom to take a photo of him carrying Olin. |

Christian in First Grade
Today when I picked up Christian, he handed me a stack of work he had completed in his first 3 days of school. I am really impressed by him!
His excellent penmanship always makes me smile. |
I don't quite get this one, but he said it was all about triangles |
Only missed one. That's my boy! |
I'm guessing he sounded this one out himself. hahaha. |
He explained to me that 10 100's equals 1000. |
And more happenings to round out my post-every-day-of-this-week!
Just hangin' by the Adirondacks with their kinetic sand. That stuff feels good! |
Ice Cream truck stopped by tonight for Adrienne's bday celebration. Kids and I biked over in our PJ's to partake! |
