Las Vegas 2015

On the Strip, Night 1

Joe's for some steak and oysters. Night 2.

We woke up at 10am!!! Best sleeping-in ever.

Necessary nutrients

The remains of my $20 slots gambling experience. This is why I don't gamble.

Best sushi of our lives at Yonaka off the Strip. Heavenly fish.

Missed these guys so much!

Megan and I are already hatching our ideas for tentative Vegas 2016. It would consist of: Yonaka sushi, outlet malls, a possible stay at the Bellagio, Mon Ami Gabi for brunch and dinner. We had a fun-filled weekend as always!

"Forkula", "Push-ups"

Reading with baba.

This is why I am tired every day. Not to mention my new Jane Fonda show on Netflix! (Ignore the US weekly magazine in the lower corner.)

Dae said he woke up this morning to Olin's feet in his face. A regular occurrence!

1) Leelee opened his mouth last week and asked me to look at his "forkula". Also known as a uvula.
2) I overheard Olin and Leelee arguing about a chess piece. Olin said "this piece is called a Push-up." Leelee said "No, it's not a push-up! It's a bishop!". Olin responds: "No, it's a push-up. Annie told me today it is a push-up"

First Half of June

Lots of photos!!!

Last day of School. Teacher Terri spinning Olin around 3 times before he gets to take a hit at the piñata.

Batter up! The piñata is supposed to be a wolf.

Leelee totally swung with all his might.

Leelee and teaching assistant Prashanthi

Leelee and teacher Karin

Happy, & dots of smoothie on his nose

Signs for Halmoni/Haraboji, since we were going to be out of town when they arrived in town.

Splash!

First eye exam. They liked seeing the 'sailboat' through this little viewfinder

Special eyewear post-dilation. (Dawn: normal for them to dilate kids' eyes so young?) They were fumbling with their snack packaging all the way up to Seattle - they couldn't see! They also couldn't see the prizes in the prize box so I had to pick out a couple of dum dums for them. Leelee has slight far sightedness in his left and eye and slight astigmatism, but doesn't need correction. Olin normal as far as they can tell.

Cozy in puo puo's guest bedroom. 2 boys + GUP E

Dental school friends from my class (Terra, Stuart, Jessica) plus Jessica's sister Emily on the far left, also a dentist.

Loads of laughs at Somerset Elementary by puo puo's house. This little play area is great!

Missing central incisor twins. Except Olin didn't display his very well, and he's missing tooth F whereas Didi is missing tooth E.

Hollywood Farmers' Market! How I've missed it!

I cannot get enough of the healthy food offerings in Seattle and Pdx. This was Prasad in the Pearl. Deliciousness!

Blue sunblock stick. Ev: "I thought it went on blue and then blended in!". Clearly not.

Striped twins + Ev's excellent new hat find!

4 hours of Mal's softball watching led to 3 tired kids on the way home from the 'Couve

Amazing balloon artist at Dylan's 5th bday party. It was such a nice party.

Olin asked for a sword. She obliged. She was also an amazing face painter.

Can you see Mt. Hood in the rearview and the Gorge in front?

Tonight

7:30pm: Read to the kids, put them to bed
8:00pm: Leelee comes in asking for water, takes a sip
8:10pm: Leelee comes in with a bloody nose, Olin follows him in "just watching"
8:30pm: Olin comes in "I have to tell you something" with some toy in his hand. We listen to him, I say that's great, good night.
8:50pm: Olin comes in "Mom, can you cut my toenails?" I tell him no, good night.
9:03pm: Olin comes in "just one last sip of water". Water given.

(Will that be the last interruption tonight? Stay tuned!)

While reading tonight, Olin asked, verbatim:

"Does butterflies smell?" and
"Does he (the bee keeper we were reading about) put rubber bands on their stingers? Because I think they might fight in there"
(The only thing I can think of is when we saw the crabs at dim sum in Vancouver that had rubber bands on the claws. We told them it was so they won't fight in the fish tank)

Swimming Burrito

Little burrito was cold at the pool yesterday. Highs were only 77, but we met Kelly and kids there and had fun.

Yup, another Krispy Kreme adventure.

Always up to trouble. Those are not his shoes. When he says "mom, don't look",  I know he's going to come back wearing some adult's shoes.

GUP "E" in the corner, Peso safely tucked under his elbow during today's nap

I always want to remember looking through the screen door and seeing the kids sitting on the back step eating popsicles. I love how quiet they are (hehe), and how much they enjoy a popsicle. Right now, they are doing this new thing where I hear them say "same" over and over. I peeked in on them and it turns out they both take a lick, hold up their popsicles to each other to compare the height, and say "same!"

DQ Blizzards

Now that Maui's apple is closed we've been forced to find another treat shack to visit during our hot summer months. DQ it is!

It's been a while since I've had a blizzard. So good...

License, Cousin, Mime!

Christian passed his driver’s test! Didi and Ev visited for 3 nights and happened to be here while Christian took his test, which was super ...
