Ergo

We had visitors from Portland, Sergio and Tamar, over the weekend and now we are hosting my dad and Joanne. It is always a lot of fun to have guests, especially ones that entertain our kids!

I was telling Tamar (who is pregnant) about different baby carriers like the Beco and the Ergo. Leelee and Olin were in the other room, when a minute later Leelee comes around the corner carrying a sheet of paper where he had spelled out "ergo". We were impressed! I didn't even know he was listening or caught on to what we were saying.

At Sagebrush they teach the kids to picture numbers (and add) using these lines of dots in rows of 10.

Leelee made this "thankful" hat at CBRC daycare this morning. He is thankful for Brother, House, School, Dad, and Mom. Hopefully not in that order :)

Freddy's grocery run. This happened during the 10 minutes where Olin was not screaming yesterday.
Dae's been overly busy during call this week. Thursday night he got called in at 10pm and got home after 1am. Friday night he got called in at 1am and got home around 7am, only go to back in at 9am and then host our guests over the weekend. This morning I heard Dae creep out at 4:15am to treat a ruptured aneurysm. At least he said it went well! So I'm hoping our trip to Phoenix this weekend will be somewhat relaxing, but that's a tall order with these two tykes :)

Mom's Visit and Portland Weekend

Mal, and Olin doing his attitude face (slitty eyes and looking away)

Puo puo reading to the kids. Actually, iPad-ing. Olin kept begging Puo Puo for the Airplane, which was this alphabet app that he loved.

Koi fusion for lunch while Ev and Jeff and Puo Puo watched our kids.

Leelee's school photo this year. Such an improvement from last year's disaster!

Pretty ride home to Eastern Washington.

Ev and Mal and Olin (2 out of 3 were going out for a jog)

Hard to see, but a full moon. "Moo-ey", the kids kept shouting.

Portland has the prettiest trees in the fall.

With the prettiest leaves!

Puo Puo in Town

My mom is in town for the week! Good eats, good walks, nice talks, magazine-reading, good babysitting, riesling-drinking for her and other-white-wine-drinking for me, and some good aerobics classes at CBRC are all on the weekly agenda. The simple pleasures are really nice: being able to leave baby at home while I drop off Leelee at school. Taking just one child out to a class or an errand while the other is napping. It is so nice!

My mom arrived on Sunday night and Dae said that Olin ran into her room while she was cooking and made himself comfortable on the bed.

They then helped her make dinner...

Leelee submitted his monthly drawing to CBRC's drawing contest. He filled in his name by himself and also filled in his age. He had seen me do it and didn't even have to ask. I am really impressed by his penmanship...it has come a long way in the past few months.

"You ever do that again..."

Conversation this morning:

I tickle Leelee and he turns around and says..."You ever do that again, I am going to be really angry at you"

Me: "Are you serious? I tickled you for fun!"

Leelee: "Fine. You can tickle me"

Olin's Hair - Before & After

After
Also, Olin sings a cute little rendition of the ABC's now.

Leelee learned how to draw stars from a 12 year old neighbor girl who we had over to babysit for a couple of hours. He draws them very well!

Disney on Ice

I took Leelee to Disney on Ice today. He absolutely loved it...up until an arrow was fired at a target and there was some firework type explosions. Then he got scared.

Kids playing on the edge of the bathtub this morning with high hair. Olin is under the weather with a runny nose.

Basketball team photos yesterday:

Halloween 2013

In case it isn't completely obvious, we recycle costumes like it's our business!

This year's outfits:

Leelee - Race car driver (3rd year straight)
Olin - Surgeon (hand-me-down from Leelee, and it is a size 6-12 month outfit that we squeezed his little booty into)

Olin woke up so crabby, I broke down and gave him a Starburst candy to coax him into the car to begin our Trick-or-Treating festivities.

We started at Uptown Shopping mall where all the shops gave out candy. There were tons of people there.

We ended up in North Richland at our old 'hood with the Safranski's. This year's trick-or-treating was a lot of fun since Leelee really seemed to be having a good time running up to every house and going strong even at 8:30pm.

October happenings

New Sagebrush Montessori paraphernalia
Pumpkin carving with our weekly church group

Leelee left his jacket at the gym and wrote out this letter to show the people at the gym. It says "I need my jacket". I helped him spell this one for sure!

Well child visit. His BP was a little low (80/64) so they did a longer blood pressure check and told him to make sure he was WELL hydrated. ...
