Scavenger Hunt

It has become a scavenger hunt every night to track down where Leelee has chosen his place of rest. His normal haunts have become archaic and he can now be located at any one of five destinations:

1) His own bed (a rarity)
2) On the floor of his room
3) In baby's crib
4) In the guest bedroom
5) On the kitchen floor

Twice now Dae and I have gotten up to turn off lights and shut down for the evening and have practically tripped over him, asleep, on the kitchen floor with his red pillow.

Tonight I walked into his room and looked at his bed...empty, with pristine sheets. A quick glance on the floor and in the baby's crib were fruitless. I walked over to the guest room and voila, there he was, sound asleep.

Rascal

He is pottytrained, he really is! I think this was leftover after a nap. Anyway, this photo is to showcase Daredevil Leelee, which we so rarely see.

This guy is so cute...berry stained teeth and all

These are his new sunglasses from the Dollar Tree in Richland. They are adult, and women's.

I really wanted to videotape Leelee singing his Chinese Song ("Hu Die" - no clue what it means). This is the best I got after about 5 tries. He can sing the entire thing, and we love it!

Twins

My mom e-mailed me these photos of her as a baby, around 1948. She thought some of the baby photos had a resemblance to Olin. I showed Dae the photos of my mom and without asking him anything, he goes "It kind of looks like Olin, don't you think?". Then Mal also chimed in when Ev asked, and said Puo Puo looked like Olin. So we have decided they are twins, except Olin is the Korean, male and 60 years younger version!

I got these little novelty mobile phone handsets as a gift for Ev (and myself!) for birthdays this year. They are SO fun! No matter if we look ridiculous using them.

Where's Leelee? (Hint: Not where he's supposed to be. It almost looks like a crime scene in there!)

My kids, Kelly's kids, and Erin Dillon's kids (another girl from our childhood neighborhood)

"Golf Tournament"

Christian, Mallory and Didi just completed their first "Golf tournament" at Canyon Lakes in Kennewick. It started out pretty miserably - I showed up on time at 4:20 but our tee time wasn't until 5:20 so I had the baby strapped to my back and Leelee swinging his putter all over the place killing time for an hour. (Neither had napped today, by the way. Argh!). By the 18th putting hole, the kids were doing great. I can't say they had expert technique, and there were a lot of distractions to be had (ducks, ponds, errant golf balls) but we enjoyed the time.  By the way, Dae and Jeff were supposed to be the designated golf buddies today but Dae got called in and Jeff took the opportunity to relax at their campsite in Hood Park. :)

18 holes complete! Oh btw, baby loves sitting cross-legged now.

Happy Birthday Dae!

Happy Birth-Dae!!! This is my new favorite way of writing happy birthday to Dae, plagiarized straight from his Facebook site where a friend of his wrote it a few years ago. We had lunch at Granny's buffet with the whole fam + Kelly, dinner at Red Robin, and a BR Cake. Pulling out the red carpet treatment for Dae!

1) Richland BR does not offer the mini-square cake, so I couldn't continue the tradition of just "Dae" written on top 2) Dae's chin is really low in this photo. I think it's because his new driver's license picture is horrible according to him, and it's because his chin is tilted really high so his face looks bigger. hehe

Love BR! They usually do a great job decorating.

Our social calendar has been relatively packed in Richland (we're not used to so much socialization!). We have spent a lot of time with old friends and made a special trip to Walla Walla on Wednesday since my best friend from college, Kerrie, was in town from Boston with her kids Stella and Henry. Yay! It was so much fun swimming in her parents' backyard and just hanging.

Stella, the fish! She is as adept in water as Kerrie.

Leelee, Stella, and Kerrie in Walla Walla.

Me, Kelly, Ev at Tagaris winery patio. Husbands also made a cameo, and we got gussied up for the occasion :)

Adrienne, Jo, Mal and Olin. Adrienne and Jo spent the day with us at the Farmer's Market and at home.

Gong Gong babysat 4 kids, by himself, for a total of 9 hours on Thursday. Thanks Dad!!!
My boys dislike the great outdoors.

Kelly's kids, Danny's kids, and my kid. Kelly, Danny and I have known each other since we were 2 and 3 years old since we all lived in the same neighborhood.

Sunny Sunday

A few photos from the past week or so:

I've been wanting one of these gems for a while. A little dangerous in Cougar-country over here. I may get egged!

Napping at our new nanny's house. They were like two little navy blue bumps on a log!

Gong Gong babysitting and watching the Olympics.

Smoothie beard. I am so happy he loves my concoctions. At least one of my kids is getting vitamins and nutrients!

Photo to show the front of the house. We had a breakfast picnic out there one morning since there is construction going on across the street and Leelee likes watching the tractors. I love having a garage, driveway, and yard!!!

Dae's New Car!

We made a spur-of-the-moment decision to road trip to Seattle yesterday to do some serious car-looking and meet up with my friend Sylvia and her very cute son Nicholas who were in town from North Carolina. I had long ago promised Dae that when he graduated, he could get whatever car he wanted. In return, the only thing I asked for is that I have total control over our finances - for the rest of our lives. haha! And I'm actually not kidding. For every 10 things that Dae is better at than me, one thing I have him on is finances, retirement, and planning for our future. Let's just say he is not quite the planner that I am, and I am not even that much of a planner. As mentioned before, if we planned life according to Dae, we would be the proud owner of multiple time shares and overpriced vehicles, have a hundred dollars in a 401(k) and our kids would be going to community college. Luckily my mom and dad taught me a thing or two and I know the fundamentals, even if I stray every now and again.

So...we did get Dae the car of his dreams. I have actually never seen him as excited as I saw him today and it was really nice.

(Sidenote...Olin says "Mama" now!!!)

Audi, baby! You can just see leelee's head outside the passenger window.

Le Panier bakery in Pike Place Market. Olin absolutely loved the buttery, flaky croissants. Can you blame the guy?

Do you see what I see? Smack dab in the center of downtown Seattle, a City Target. What a dream!

Pike Place Fish Market. They threw a few fish just for fun.

A photo to capture tooth #F.  He's got a grand total of 3 teeth.

Sylvia & Nicholas, 13 months (This guy walked at 9 months! Poor Olin...so behind)

License, Cousin, Mime!

Christian passed his driver’s test! Didi and Ev visited for 3 nights and happened to be here while Christian took his test, which was super ...
