No Gestational Diabetes and No Placenta Previa!

I had a follow-up ultrasound today to check the position of the placenta, which had previously been previa, or partially covering the cervix. Today it was in a normal position from what I gathered, which means no C-section (I hope!). I also passed my glucose test last week. Whew! A celebratory bowl of ice cream was had...

In totally unrelated news, I have been really into this nail treatment called Shellac, which is UV cured and stays on for 2 weeks without chips. It works fabulously - through dentistry and Leelee, which are the ultimate test. Last week I got it professionally done in Seattle in a pink color, and this week I tried it myself in French Manicure with my newly purchased items.

I hope my home job lasts as well as the salon.

This weekend we head to Richland again for July 4. It's supposed to be 90 degrees out. Dae will be roasting out there on the golf course!

Diary of a Mad Day

Today was a crazy day. Here we go in chronological order:

5:45am A relatively late wake-up for Leelee. Dae leaves for work. Clean house like crazy for the housecleaners' bi-monthly arrival. We really need them to come more often - we are not clean people by nature.

8:15am Ev picks up Leelee for the morning.

8:30am Housecleaners arrive. I depart for Fred Meyer.

9:15am Ob appointment and 1-hour glucose test. *I hope I pass, I hope I pass!*

10:30am Kuni Collision center to pick up the Lexus (rear-ending snafu) and clean it out entirely of all objects.

11:30am Kuni BMW car dealership to sell the Lexus (yahoo!). They give me a ride back to Kuni Collision center to pick up my Volvo.

12:30am New Seasons for a to-go lunch and Old Navy to make a return.

1:15pm Arrive at Ev's to rest for 45 minutes.

2:00pm Depart Ev's with Leelee and Didi in tow for Leelee's pediatric endocrine appointment.

3:30pm Endocrine appointment over. In the Kaiser Permanente parking lot, I accidentally hit the lock button on the car remote control, close the door, and all doors are locked with the key inside. Major panic ensues as it is like 90 degrees inside the car and there is no ventilation - both boys are buckled up inside. I call Dae and Ev - no answer. I call Volvo who tells me to call the non-emergency police line.

3:30pm - 3:50pm I try to explain to Didi, through the car window, how to unbuckle his carseat buckle and get up to the front to push the button. Turns out those carseat buckles actually are childproof! So no luck, and I am pacing around the car like crazy, worried the boys are going to sweat through their clothes. They are champs and barely make a fuss...

3:50pm "Pop-A-Lock" arrives courtesy of the Tualatin Fire Department. I love those guys! They unlock the passenger side door in about 10 seconds, the car alarm is set off, and I release the sweaty boys to roam free in the fresh air for a few minutes. I feel so relieved I am willing to pay the locksmith just about anything for his services. It turns out it's free as a community service!!

4:30pm We head over to Bubble Tea (with all the windows rolled down) for a treat.

5:30pm After major traffic on Sunset Highway, we get gas and go to Papa Murphy's to support the Madeline School fundraiser and pick up dinner. Bump into Ev there, conveniently, who tows Didi home.

6:30pm Put the pizzas in the oven and clean up another major blowout from Leelee which has leaked through diaper and onto chair and floor (not yet cured of his diarrhea).

7:15pm Hammer up a couple of photos, read a book to Leelee and put him down. He barely makes a fuss...must have been the frenetic day.

Now: Rest, internet and hopefully some relaxation!

June has not been my month. Leelee locked himself into his room earlier in the month (for about 10 minutes, but I get into a panic easily these days), the rear-ending debacle with the Lexus, and now the locking of the car doors today.

Good night!

Happy Father's Day!!!

Pantless Leelee at the car dealership

Happy Father's Day to Dae and my dad!

We had, in my opinion, a great day (hopefully Dae thought so as well!). They picked me up from the train station this morning at 11am, we relaxed for a bit, ate Korean food for lunch, and headed over to the car dealership to check out a promising Volvo. One hour later, we were the happy owners of a new (used) Volvo! Yay! Dae has never been a fan of the Volvos but was game enough to come test drive it and even admitted it "wasn't a bad car". He said it was my Father's Day Gift - haha.

In other news, Leelee had some GI problems this weekend and had a big blowout at the dealership. As a result, he sat through the entire car transaction pantless. Poor little guy. Just a collared shirt and some Converse to get him through.

Swimming in Richland

All those swimming lessons have not paid off. Leelee didn't venture in any farther than knee-deep (besides when he was nice and comfy on his flotation device).

1 foot from the TV, wearing the beloved sunglasses.

The Piano Man

We got a piano! Thanks Mom! My mom handed down our childhood piano and I was the lucky recipient since Ev already got one a couple years ago. We love it! I have to put the damper on when Leelee decides to pound on it since we have neighbors in close proximity but I can't wait to tackle a Chopin number I've been unsuccessfully trying to play for a little while.

Last night Christian and I attended my friend's daughter's high school graduation from the Washington School for the Deaf. Christian made fast friends with CJ, the 11-year-old son of one of Ann's friends. Poor CJ. He was such a good sport and Christian absolutely loved him.

Christian made himself comfy on CJ's lap

Couple funny things:

1) When Christian's about to do something (say throw a ball) he holds onto it and counts to a full ten before letting go.
2) Today for the first time Christian helped himself into bed for a nap. Huge. I was in the shower, he was kind of fussy outside, so I said he could go lay down in our bed if he wanted. He shuffled off and I showered gloriously with no interruption for 10 minutes and when I came out, it was so quiet I was almost scared. I looked on our bed...nothing. I went into his room where I found him cozy and snoozing under his big down comforter.

We're off to Richland for a 4-day weekend in about 30 minutes!

Pregnancy Photo @ 6 Months

I'm only 6 months. I feel way more pregnant, as I am out of breath all the time when I am talking with patients, and I feel like I can barely lean over. On a positive note, Lisa handed down to me my first pair of maternity designer jeans...Yay! I could never bring myself to fork over the required amount for designer maternity jeans.

Sunglasses

Leelee hates it when sun gets in his eyes, especially when we are driving in the car. He will start crying and yelling until I tell him to either close his eyes or cover them with his hands (one time I even caught him covering his eyes with his hands when he was walking!). So I splurged at the dollar store and picked him up a pair of shades...

Potty as Dining Seat

Not exactly the intended use of the potty, but at least he's getting some utility out of it. He thoroughly enjoys that granola.

Pooped

Pooped.

I took a couple days off work and we packed our schedule with a visit to see Trena in Bremerton, Lisa in Newcastle and my mom in Bellevue and Renton. The weather cooperated very well. Leelee, however, had other plans. His tantrums (falling on the floor) have come back and we've discovered that when he is put in a new environment with new friends it takes him a full hour to warm up. Great. This first hour is very painful, as it involves lots of crying, lots of tantruming, and possible hitting of the other child if they get too close.

Lisa and new baby Austin (10 weeks)

These are his latest and greatest:

1) "No" in English...uses it all the time.
2) Requests for milk...still all the time.
3) Requests for vitamins ("Bitamins)"...all the time. I don't know what came over me when I decided to purchase gummy vitamins from Costco but that will be the first and last jar in this household!
4) Asks for the Hello Music CD when we are in the car. I told him the small car doesn't have Hello and the big car does, so now he says "Small car doesn't have Hello, Big car has Hello" in Chinese.
5) One time when he asked for Hello, I told him no, I was going to listen to NPR. Since then, a couple of times he has said "no Hello, listen to NPR" or will ask to listen to NPR.
