Halloween 2010

Today, Halloween, began well enough with the drive back from Seattle. Things started to deteriorate at our mom's Halloween potluck when Leelee quickly became hot, sweaty, and cranky due to lack of a good nap.

hehe

We did manage to keep Leelee up until 6:15pm when we headed out to make the rounds in our condo. Trick-or-treating, condo-style, is seriously nice. Warm, quick, and dry!

Yup - riding the elevator to trick-or-treat!

Yesterday we drove up to Seattle to watch the Huskies vs. Stanford. Although the game left much to be desired, it is always great to go back to Husky stadium and my mom watched Leelee so Dae and I could spend a few extra hours meandering the U-district.

My mom and Mr. Wong tried to introduce Leelee to cotton candy, much to his dismay.

The Human Dicer

This is what we battle every meal (especially when fruit): Christian takes a bite, chews each piece until it's finely diced, extracts every last drop of juice from the piece, and spits it out onto his chest.

There is so much diced apple here it looks as though he's growing fruit out of his chest.

Leelee's little things

A few little things about Christian that I don't want to forget:

1) His small swirl of hair at the start of his right eyebrow
2) His maxillary laterals that look like little pegs (but are, in fact, not)
3) The constant sweaty head
4) The fact that he'll put anything up to his ear as a phone and say "hi". Calculators, lip gloss, and the dustpan are high on the list.

More to come...

Grandparents' Visit

Christian in Richland last weekend, licking a Dilly Bar stick clean

Dae's parents have been here for the past week and I've been a little spoiled in that Dae's mom has been cooking, cleaning, and getting up with Christian in the morning. I am pretty sure she's going to go back to Georgia and collapse from fatigue, but in the meantime it has been nice!

Today was my day off with Dae and his parents so we went to the Pumpkin Patch.

Standing aside the 1360 pound pumpkin (on his left)

Do I belong in there somewhere?

Bath-hawk

I forgot to load the above picture from the Sunriver Western-themed dinner. They had all sorts of games, like lasso the horse, horseshoes, and a shooting competition. We had a good time but had to take our food to go since dinner didn't start until 7:30 (we're obviously not against eating and running, but in this case just running, with food!).

Below are bath photos from today.

Little Einstein

Nope, not talking about his smarts (although we of course think he's pretty darn smart), but his hair. It gets a little Einstein-y after he wakes up sometimes. I snapped a photo of him this morning. You can get a feel of the hair, although this wasn't as crazy as it can get sometimes. Actually, looking at this photo I almost feel like this hairdo could be on a middle-aged woman!

Yesterday we did a mini-hike up to Beacon Rock in the gorge. It was probably the last sunny day we'll have in a while, and the gorge was beautiful. (Two side notes: I have forgotten my camera at every occasion this past week so iPhone photos have had to suffice. And yes, I am carrying Christian a.k.a extra 25 pounds, rather than Dae. Let's just say I am trying to gently stimulate some cardiovascular activity in him and wanted to make this experience as pleasant as possible! hahaha)

Today we had our mom's group potluck. Since all of the kids' birthdays are within about 2 weeks from each other, it is really fun to hear all of them learning new words and playing and growing at about the same speed. Christian is a little shy, but it was definitely a relief to see that he was not the heaviest whiner or cryer in the bunch!

Well child visit. His BP was a little low (80/64) so they did a longer blood pressure check and told him to make sure he was WELL hydrated. ...
