90 Degrees

It's a hot one here! We've been relishing every second of great Portland sun this weekend.

Last night Jeff planned a Double Date night, courtesy of Barb babysitting, so the four of us were able to go out and have dinner and drinks in the Pearl. It was really fun! Before we left, we told the boys to "flex" and this is what they gave us...

Funny side note: Christian put a piece of tofu up to his ear yesterday and said "Hi" as if it were a telephone. We saw him use toy cars before as a telephone, but never a piece of tofu!

Also, Christian finally cut another tooth. Left upper molar #I. Random! Lower lateral incisors are still mysteriously missing...

Mom's Potluck Meltdown

My mom's group met today for a barbecue, this time plus Dad's, so Dae got to experience Christian x 5! He (as well as a few others) had a meltdown during photos.

Surprisingly, Christian was not the last to walk. Ronan just started walking yesterday, so poor Christian at least had someone beat by a few days.

We're not sure what happened, but now, for please, Christian says "pee-yo" instead of "pease" like he was doing before. It is very odd indeed!

Walking!

Christian appears to finally be walking! Up until now, he would walk back and forth from me to Dae, but only if he knew there was someone or something to catch him at the other end. Yesterday we were at a Barbecue with 3 other young boys and we think he felt inspired (or behind). Anyway, we caught him walking from a patio chair to the kids' table without any assistance. Finally!

Second new event: He doesn't store food in his mouth any longer and in fact has made a complete 180. He will spit unfavorable food out immediately, or he will wait until something better comes along, and then spit out whatever inferior food he might have been savoring. Not sure if we prefer the storing or the spitting...

Free Lunch at Ikea

Sleeping

This is Christian just now sleeping. We've caught him the past few nights with one stray leg outside the crib confines. Usually we put the foot back in the crib, but tonight I had to capture a photo first!

Happy 4th of July!

We just got back from my friend Minoo's houseboat for a 4th of July get together. She loves babies and scooped up Christian the minute we stepped inside her house. It was great!

Height: 2'7" (46%)

Head circumference: 19" (96%)

His head is getting huger and huger by the day!
